Desperate Circumstances: Freddy’s Story
Freddy, a student of MTI, shares his experience with you from a recent mission trip to the Islands of Mexico.
“We went to evangelize in a place where they prepare the fish to sell. It was quite an experience for me to witness to the fishermen, because as we talked with them they continued to work. We sang songs and shared our testimonies, and to my surprise the people actually listened to us even though they continued working.
I was praying with one lady for her son who had tried to kill his sister. The woman felt that an evil spirit had taken control of her son from a young age, because an evil spirit had spoken to him and told him to do it, and when we were praying God set him free.
Vilma’s Dream
God surprised me when I saw how many children came to give their lives to Christ. As we were doing house-to-house ministry we realized that many of the people already knew the gospel but they had not lived a Christian life in a long time.
We prayed with one man who had once lived a Christian life and now was an alcoholic. As we prayed with him, we told him that he did not have to be afraid of returning to God, because God was waiting for him with His arms opened wide.
During the trip I had a dream of a specific family and house that we would encounter. In my dream God told me what to say to them, so each day I would look for them. When we came upon the house, it was exactly as it was in my dream and the young man that I saw in the dream was standing in front of the house. I told him, “God sent me to tell you that even though you are away from Him, He has never left you and that no matter what you have done He will forgive you. God wants you to know that He has a plan for your life and that He wants to heal you and to give you a new life.” Tears streamed from his eyes as we prayed for him.
This trip showed me that if we only believe in what God shows us, and trust that He will do what He says, then we will see great things happen.
